SWITZERLAND'S BIGGEST POLO TOURNAMENT GOES DIGITAL
Hublot Polo Gold Cup Gstaad The Hublot Polo Gold Cup Gstaad celebrated its 15th anniversary this year. Taking place annually in Switzerland’s spectacular Bernese Oberland region the Cup is one of the premium events on the global polo circuit.

From 19-22 August the world’s top players converged on the Saanen/Gstaad airfield, competing fiercely to secure the prestigious golden trophy and aiming to improve their international position on the World Polo Tour ranking list by scoring as many points as possible.

World Television was there covering the action as it unfolded – check out the highlights video we produced and promoted via the world’s top video-sharing sites using Push360, our online distribution service.

We also developed the online media centre for the event, which continues to host footage of the competition plus images and other information useful for broadcast, print and online journalists.

CLIMATE CHANGE TOP OF AGENDA AT AVIATION SUMMIT
Aviation & Environment Summit With the 16th Conference of the Parties (COP16) approaching at the end of November in Cancun, Mexico, climate change is once again at the top of the political agenda. It was also a hot topic for debate at the Aviation & Environment Summit, which took place on 16 and 17 September in Geneva.

The Summit welcomed an array of the airline industry’s movers and shakers from organisations including the International Air Transport Association, Boeing, KLM Royal Dutch Airlines, Rolls Royce, UNWTO, NATS and Airbus. Sessions centred around the key challenges facing the global aviation industry, with a specific focus on climate change. The conference was deliberately timed to precede two pivotal events on the climate change agenda: COP16 and the International Civil Aviation Organisation’s 37th Assembly in Montreal, Canada.

World Television provided dedicated news services across the two days on behalf of the events’ co-organisers, the Air Transport Action Group (ATAG). We combined our B-Roll footage with other multimedia assets (images, links, PDFs, Word documents etc) and a traditional text-based press release into a Multimedia News Release (MNR) – a dynamic HTML page – and sent it out to target journalists in advance of the event.

We also coordinated a Satellite Media Tour with broadcasters from Bloomberg, CNBC, Sky News and CNN to make sure the story got the exposure it deserved.

Making its way around the globe, the Webb Ellis Cup – the most prestigious prize in international rugby – will be accompanied by rugby legends and representatives from the IRB and Heineken as it journeys from New Zealand and back again via England, Ireland, France, Hong Kong, Dubai, Argentina, South Africa and Australia.

World Television took charge of the global PR campaign to promote the tour’s launch and secured extensive airtime of our B-Roll footage across dozens of TV channels worldwide. We also pushed the message out to the top video-sharing sites using our Push360 service. You can view the interviews with top rugby sportsmen and commentators we filmed by visiting our YouTube channel.

WORLD’S LEADERS CONVERGE ON TIANJIN, CHINA, FOR ‘SUMMER DAVOS’
Annual Meeting of the New Champions Tianjin, People’s Republic of China, once again played host to the world economy’s most prominent players this September. Leaders from 85 countries were joined by nine senior global business ‘Mentors’, at the World Economic Forum’s Annual Meeting of the New Champions, 13-15 September.

Over the course of the two day summit, the world’s business greats debated this year’s topic "Driving Growth Through Sustainability". Companies were urged to reconsider their view of sustainability to include not only their role in mitigating climate change, but also to take the economic and social environments into account when driving growth.

World Television was there to cover the Meeting for the World Economic Forum – filming the main plenary and keynote sessions as well as interviewing some of the big names in international business. A highlights package of the event will be available via our website soon but for now take a look at the 2009 video.

The Annual Meeting of the New Champions, or “Summer Davos”, is the foremost global business gathering in Asia. Introduced in 2007, it is hosted in partnership with the Government of the People’s Republic of China. Over 1,500 participants participated in the event this year.
